They come in handy if you keep forgetting to congratulate someone on a holiday or your friends live in a different time zone.
Pulse SMS
Pulse SMS is a very popular text messaging client, not a bad alternative to Android’s native SMS app. Its free version has a scheduler.
To schedule texting with Pulse, install the app, then:
- Tap the + button and select the contact you want to address the message to.
- Tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner of the screen to open the menu, and select Postpone Message.
- Set the date and time to send in the calendar.
- Enter the text of the text message and tap “Add”.
Done. Your message will now be sent to the recipient at the specified time.
You may want to edit the text or cancel the scheduled action later. You can do it this way:
- Tap the icon in the top left corner of the screen to open the sidebar.
- Select Pending dialogs.
- Find the item you want and tap on it. A window opens where you can change the date and scheduled time, edit the text, send the message immediately, or delete it.
Textra SMS
Textra is another SMS client with a scheduler. You can postpone sending a message using it as follows.
- Click on the round button in the lower right corner to create a new message and specify to whom it should be addressed.
- Type your text and tap the + button to the left of the input field.
- Tap the round arrow-dial icon at the bottom of the screen and set the send date and time.
- Tap the “Send message” button, next to which a green clock symbol will appear.
If you want to cancel the SMS or edit it:
- Open a dialog with the person whose message you postponed.
- Touch the desired line.
- Tap the clock symbol to change the time or text of the SMS, or the trash can icon to delete the message.
