Last year the option for people worldwide to message seamlessly across all of their devices while retaining the same level of privacy and security.
Today, WhatsApp expanding its multi-device service by allowing you to utilize the same WhatsApp account on numerous phones. Users have requested the ability to link your phone as one of up to four more devices, similar to how you can link with WhatsApp on web browsers, tablets, and desktops. Each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently, ensuring that your messages, media, and calls remain end-to-end encrypted, and WhatsApp automatically logs you out of all companion devices if your primary smartphone is inactive for an extended period.
Using phones as companion devices simplifies messaging. You can now switch between phones without signing out and resume your conversations where you left off. Alternatively, if you manage a small business, extra staff can now react to consumers straight from their phones using the same WhatsApp Business account.
This update has begun to be sent to users worldwide and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
WhatsApp provides a new and more accessible way to connect to companion devices in the coming weeks. Instead of scanning a QR code, you may now enter your phone number on WhatsApp Web to receive a one-time code that you can use on your phone to enable device connection.
