Telegram had stories for cake as celebrated Telegram’s tenth birthday last month. Thanks to a new boost mechanism in this version, channels may now begin uploading tales as well. Reaction stickers and the ability to add your own music are now available for stories. Additionally, Telegram has improved login warnings, introduced a View Once setting to self-destructing material, and included many stories about cats sporting watermelons.
Channels’ Stories
By giving their favorite channels boosts, Telegram users may enable them to submit tales. One boost is now included with Telegram Premium and may be used on any channel.
As they receive more boosts, channels level up, and for each level they reach, they are able to post one more tale each day to the story feeds of their subscribers. Once more, Telegram users are in charge: they can decide which channels’ moderators may bombard them with food photographs, as well as how many meals they want each day!
Using a unique link like t.me/durov?boost, channels may ask viewers for boosts (a teaser-trailer won’t hurt either).
- Go to Channel Info > More > Statistics >
- Boosts to acquire the boost link for your channel and find out how many you need to level up.
- Reaching level 10 grants your channel +15 troll resistance and unlocks exclusive admin skins.
Admins with the necessary permissions who have a Telegram Premium membership can publish by pressing the publish Story Icon on the Channel Info tab once your channel has enabled tales.
When uploading stories from their chat list, administrators will additionally get a ‘Post Story As’ option. (Therefore, perhaps remind them to double-check where they’re sending those noodles.)
Stories with Reaction Stickers
Reaction stickers are available for both users and channels to add to their stories, allowing viewers to answer with even more emoji with just one press. Channels broadcast stories with reaction counters that indicate how many viewers choose each emotion. (Yes, moose and jellyfish have feelings.)
Tap the icon in the sticker panel, then select an emoji from the many choices in the window, to add a reaction sticker. Any of the custom emoji created by premium subscribers is also usable. except from the sloth. You have been told not to use that one!
Each article can have up to five reaction stickers added by Premium users, compared to everyone else’s one.
Your Story-Based Music
You may use audio files on your smartphone to create bespoke soundtracks, narration, and appropriate rickrolls for picture and video stories.
Tap “Audio” on the sticker panel, choose a file, and then drag the track to choose any area. You may preserve the original sound in video storytelling while also moving the additional audio track at any moment, such as a BADUMMM-TSSSS! in the midst or some outro music.
Once-On-One Media
Speaking of noodles, back in 2013, Telegram enabled self-destructing media. It now has a new style, a new View Once setting, and is much simpler to use.
Your photo or video will be viewable for up to 30 seconds after opening in any 1-on-1 conversation when you touch the View Once icon in the media editor. Once the receiver opens the conversation, View-Once material is permanently removed.
View-once material cannot be saved or screenshotted, just like all other self-destructing media. If they aren’t wearing sunglasses, Telegram will also try to Neuralyze anyone with a photographic memory.
Alerts for New Logins
Telegram notifies all of your devices if someone logs into your account. New logins now place this alert at the top of your chat list to make it even more obvious. Absolutely no pressure.
- Tap ‘No, it’s not me!’ to immediately safeguard your account if you didn’t log in on a new device. Just be careful not to assume anything if it’s Sunday morning.
- In Settings > Devices, you can examine every device that presently has access to your messages.
- You may add a two-step verification password under Settings > Privacy and Security > Two-Step Verification for more security.
- Never input your password or login information anyplace other than when you’re using Telegram to access your chats!
Even More
Additionally, the devs made a ton of improvements and bug fixes. Sending videos has improved for iOS users; it is now quicker and the progress bar is more precise. When watching spoiler animations on Android devices, including view-once and hidden media, performance will be improved. Users of BlackBerry and Windows Phone will see that these platforms have vanished over the previous ten years. That’s all for today; as you watch channel tales, we’ll be working on the next update. Happy Eating!
