On August 14, Telegram turns ten, and we’re celebrating with our greatest update to date. More than 800 million people currently use the new services we’ve developed over the previous ten years. With a special twin camera mode, comprehensive privacy controls, adjustable time options, and much more, we introduce Stories in this version.
Telegram Stories
Stories are now accessible on Telegram, allowing you to easily share moments and see more from your friends.
This was by far the most often requested feature in Telegram history, and we’ve spent months reimagining and perfecting the structure. All the expected features are included in Telegram Stories, along with several others that have never been attempted before.
- You can extend the section at the top of your screen where stories are displayed, so you can still see the entirety of your chat list and folders.
- You can simply tap to share, reply privately, or react when viewing a story. Tap once for a short reaction, or hold down to access hundreds more.
- By default, all of your contacts’ tales will appear on your home page. However, you can choose to hide stories from particular contacts and move them to your archived chats.
Mode for two cameras
Stories can concurrently use the front and rear cameras of your device to take pictures or videos of sights from all angles, allowing you to control which camera is pointed in which direction even as a video is being recorded.
Locations, Stickers, and Captions
The robust media editor in Telegram’s stories lets you add text, drawings, stickers, and location tags. Stories allow you to add captions, where you can add links, tag friends, and provide even more detail.
You can browse the web for GIFs and images to upload, or you can add several photographs from your collection.
Fine-grained privacy controls
You have four privacy options when posting a story: Everyone, My Contacts, Close Friends, and Selected Contacts. You can include or remove any users by completely customizing each parameter.
In order to keep your boss or grandmother from learning about your adventurous side, you can also choose a list of people who will never read your story.
You can disable screenshots to stop viewers from storing or sharing a story to make it even more private.
Profiles in Stories
You can select a story’s duration from 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours. You may also upload them to your profile where they will be displayed in a lovely grid so that both current and potential connections can view your best work whenever they want.
- Now, instead of just a few profile photographs, you’ll receive fascinating glimpses into someone’s life when you first meet them on Telegram.
- Each tale you add to your profile has its own privacy settings, so you can always manage who can see which ones.
Story Editing
For the first time in social media history, you may alter any aspect of your story at any time, without having to completely delete and republish it. This includes updating the element’s visibility, caption, on-screen text, stickers, and anything else.
Open your story on the device you posted it from, then hit “or” or “> Edit Story” to make changes.
Statistic View in Detailed
A user’s name appears in a list of readers that the story’s author can see when they open a tale, acting as a read receipt.
After you publish a story, you may open it to examine the list. You can filter the list to only show your contacts, and you can also sort by most recent views or reactions. Type a specific user’s name into the search bar to see if they saw it.
Premium users can use Stealth Mode to increase their level of privacy by wiping their views from any stories they opened in the previous five minutes and hiding what they view for the following twenty-five minutes.
